Aligning misalligned columns in one table

G

Guest

Example: Three tables are copied together one after the other, no breaks
between them. All have four columns, but the three tables had them spaced
differently. I'm trying to align all three sets of columns the same.

I've tried click and drag, but that never ever seems to line them up
exactly. Is there some trick or easier way in which to align these columns
properly?

Thanks

Hold down the Alt key while you drag.

Hi Littlebear,

With the cursor in the first column of the table, open the Table >
Properties dialog and go to the Columns tab. Click the "Preferred
width" checkbox and set the width to approximately the right number.
Click the Next column button, and repeat the settings. Do the same for
each of the four columns, and then close the dialog.

The columns will now be aligned, and you can drag the borders to the
proper locations.

If you select the column before dragging a border, you should be able to
drag it back and forth until it collects all the stragglers.
