AIW Awful TV Display

Hi

I have just connected a TV monitor (Sony 21") to the ATI AIW 7500. The
problem is that the Desktop does not fill the screen on the TV with black
borders on top and bottom and it cannot be adjusted with the Vertical
sizing in the Property of the TV display settings ). Also the quality is
awful and just about readable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your screen resolution is inapppropriate for the screen size of your
monitor. It should be set to 800x600. Even under ideal circumstances, a
computer displayed on a regular monitor will be much less sharp and clear
than on a computer monitor. There are special data grade monitors made for
diplaying a scan convertied image, but these are terribly expensive. There
is not much that can be done to "clean up" the picture.

I changed the resolution to 800X600 and got a very slight improvement, I am
not too bothered about the quality of the Display in data mode as i need it
only to view Video files and it doesnt look too bad in this respect.

I set fonts to size 14 or larger. TV images are always on the blurry side. Even
DOS fonts need to be set to 14! I use the TV out for internet videos that I
can't save and are worth viewing (like Naked News). Also, when installing
software of serious complexity, I use TV out to record to VCR so I have a record
of what the hell happened, even if nothing went wrong!
