Ahh! I can't share internet!

Guest

Someone please save me from my own selfishness! I can't share my internet
connection with my roomate and xbox 360! We just got the internet installed a
couple of days ago, (from MTS if you must know) and we have tried a countless
number times, researching the swamp of the internet, contacting our ISP and
changing ip settings, but alas to no avail. We did eventually get it to work
once for a half day! we could actually share! It was so beautiful, but it
didn't last for long. I have my suspicions of why it doesn't want to share,
but I will leave the proffesionals to do this, you guys!

Here is a list of our "devices":
Acer 9410Z on Windows Vista Home Premium
HP Pavillion dv6420la Notebook on Windows Vista Home Premium
Xbox 360
Speedstream 5360 Modem
Linksys EZXS55W Workgroup Switch

Here is a list of my "suspicions":
Network and Sharing Centre says my LAN is an "unidentified network", and it
keeps changing the profile to "public". Also can't change the name of it.
It's an ugly scapegoat, but its worth a shot I can always blame Window Vista!

Lastly here is the command prompt; ipconfig nonsense:

Hi friends. Well I first thank you. Secondly its not fixed quite yet, I just
achieved some valuable understanding. I can change the default gateway (same
as IP address! It was so blatantly easy, i could have guessed!). And I can
identify and even rename the "unidentified network"! But it appears there is
a cost, I cant turn on ICS, it changes my network, and ip settings backwards
to where i started! Is there another anti-windows, alternative program that
would allow me to share? Or is it all some ridiculous, technological
balancing act?
