AGP help please

I haven't had my computer turned on in a while. In fact I
just had the power supply unplugged and was using it
along with my monitor, keyboard, and mouse to work on a
friends computer (just "tune" it up). I had done nothing
to my system.

So I finish with my friend's system and reconnect the
stuff to my tower, and when I turn it on my AGP port
graphics card (128 MB Nvidia GeForce something I can't
remember the number...I think 440) isn't working...so I
tried reinstalling the drivers for the AGP...and then the
video drivers for the card...

However, every time I restart the system it still tells
me that the AGP drivers are NOT installed...

Am I missing something? I didn't pull the card before
installing the AGP drivers.. should I do that or is
something else wrong...it proceeds to find the onboard
card which I diabled and uninstalled the drivers for
before initially putting the GeForce card in...so that is
what I am using now...I would REALLY like the big card
back...

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks in advance,

JT

Hi;
The Bios most likely lost its settings with the pc sitting idle awhile.
On the motherboard there's a smallish (1/2 inch or so lithium battery that
supplies some "juice" to keep the Bios "alive".
Expected(!) life of 3-5 years.
Cost: 3-5 $ also.

On a reboot access the Bios.
Turn OFF OnBoard video. Windows should not see it.
Make AGP the primary video type. Win. should find your REAL vidcard.
I'd also re-detect all drives while in there to make sure.

Get a new battery IF machine goes awry ONCE again.
You'd have to reset aplenty then and that's the reason for the ONCE again.
