After you install Windows XP, you have the option to create user accounts

This is not true. It is NOT an option it is a requirement. I do not
want any other local user on the machine other than the
Administrator. I cannot use Administrator here and I cannot get by
this "option." How can I set this up the way I'd like to where
Administrator is the ONLY local account? Thanks.

When you get to the setup user screen, do a three finger salute, and
reboot. It is not recommended to use THE Administrator account as your
main user.

It's been waiting for that. thx off to try it now. I really won't ever logon with that account except to attach it to the domain.

FWIW

If a user is logged on with administrative privileges, an attacker who
successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of
an affected system, including installing programs; viewing, changing, or
deleting data; or creating new accounts with full privileges. Users
whose accounts are configured to have fewer privileges on the system
would be at less risk than users who operate with administrative
privileges ||

The user will be a domain account. The local Administrator will never sign
on except to make configuration changes.

"hmm true, but wouldnt it be better to set up defences against attack rather
than refrain from using the account?"

Well no other local account is necessary. Since it will never be used.
