After Windows Update Help Needed!!

After my daughter downloaded several of the latest Windows Updates to
Windows XP, she can no longer access her dialup modem. One of the updates
was Hotfix (or something like that) and several others. She tried
reinstalling the modem, but the computer wouldn't recognize it. I suggested
she use System Restore to go back to a restore point. She tried several
restore points before the update, but after restarting the computer, each
time she gets a message that the computer can't be restored to this point.
She's not sure what else might be messed up, but at least these 2 things
are. She isn't sure what will happen if she goes to the Add/Remove Program
and remove the updates.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks so much.

Select Properties and then Driver Tap.

Click on "Roll-Back Driver" button.

This should remove the Windows Update updated driver that is not working.
