After upgrading to 2003 the scatter charts no longer show data la.

I am working on upgrading an Add-in that creates a quadrant (scatter) chart.
Along both the X and Y axis I have a title plus I have put a data series with
labels along the axis. The data series is used as a more detailed title for
each quadrant. In Excel 2000 these labels show up fine but in Excel 2003 they
do not display. Does anyone know how to get these labels to display for Excel
2003?

In Excel 2000 and 97, if a point would be plotted anywhere within the chart area,
its label is visible. In Excel 2002 and 2003, this "feature" was redefined as a
"bug", and eradicated, which damaged a number of my solutions. Now a point has to be
within the plot inside area in order for its label to appear. There is in fact a
registry hack, but it's so obscure that I never implemented it, and I don't even
know which scrap of paper I wrote it on; what good is it on my machine when so few
others on the planet would have it?

You could sidle the points up to the edge of the plot area, add labels, and move the
labels back off the plot.
