After joining the 2000 AD Domain user authentication is slow.

I am using Windows XP As a client in windows 2000 AD domain. But when I am
trying to logon with domain user authentication is slow. What to DO??

Slow logons usually are because of improper DNS settings. Make sure the
workstation only looks to the server for DNS. The server of course
should only be looking to itself with forwarding zones set up for
Internet access.
