After change to workgroup from domain I Cannot login as admin

I have admin rights on my WinXP Pro office laptop set up to join a domain. While at home I changed it to join a workgroup and it said "Welcome to workgroup" please restart. After restarting it will not let me log in with the same credentials
Any idea? Do I need to take it back to office so that other admin account can force it to be part of the domain again?

On a domain, your user account is created and authenicated on a domain
controller. In a workgroup, the account is created and authenticated in the
local security accounts database. Did you create a local user account?
