Afraid to buy more games, they wont work anyway

Plz someone help me, some of my games will work but others wont. I can
install them, But when i play them, vista just exits the game, leaving me
back to the desktop. Wtf? i mean heres a little list of all my games that
will work and not work:
desperate housewives: not working
morrowind: not workin
The thing: not working
trhe movies: yes
csi: Not working
Warcraft 3: yes

because of vista i wont dare to buy any more games, cause im afraid they
wont work

Have you tried Compatibility Mode?
Right click the icon
Click Properties
Click Compatibility tab
Adjust settings.

Check with the manufacturer of the game to see what they say about
Windows Vista compatibility.
Some may need a patch from the manufacturer.

Does your computer have the latest drivers, particularly video and
sound?

The Thing works fine on Vista here. Must be a problem with your PC.

Some games may need admin rights. Right click the game shortcut and select
run as administrator. Also the compatibility modes may fix them as the MVP
said.
