Aero Taskbar is not working properly - help!

Help! I see my friends' laptop having transparant taskbars (the bar with the
start button) and they could see their desktop background and I'd like to
have that too. But the problem is, my taskbar isn't transparant - I couldn't
see the desktop wallpaper. I'd like it to be transparant. How do you solve
this problem? Please help me.

For your own information if you are going to help me out:
I'm running a Vista Home Premium on VAIO C23S (and my friends' laptop with
the same OS seems to work fine).
My Vista Aero thing is working perfectly except for that taskbar.
My windows frame are transparant.

If you ever need any more information on my problem, you may contact
(e-mail address removed) .
If you wish to answer me directly, you can as well send your answers to the
e-mail above or just post your answers here. Thank you for your help!

Hi Frank,

You may have your "Color Intensity" set to far to the right. Make sure
that you have "Enable Transparency" checked also. You can see how to do
this in this tutorial.

Thanks! I just discovered that I can't get the sidebar transparent with Aero
Glass turned on until I upgrade my Home Basic to Premium or above. I'll wait
for my next computer, this one more than serves it's purpose with a pleasant
appearance, and I'm getting cheap in my old age. ;-)

You could always get the Anytime Upgrade to Home Premium if you ever wanted
it.

Just a shot in the dark, i know this is a few months old now, but you dont
happen to have I-Tunes installed, if so, if you have the I-tunes toolbar
enabled on the task bar this could be causing the problem. I had a similar
problem all other aero effects worked perfectly just not the transparency on
the taskbar. Disabling the Itunes toolbar remedied this.

Hope this helps.
