Advance a slide in a presentation

Hi all,

I think I'm going to ask a question to which I ought to know the answer:

If I insert an action button to advance to the next slide, can I also turn
off the automatic advance one slide (which occurs at the end of the
animation sequence on a slide)? I want avoid inadvertent moving on towards
the next slide until I'm ready.

I use Office 2007. In my presentation, I want an automatic transition from
slide A to slide B. However, when that feature is turned on for slide A, any
On Click animation in that slide is ignored and the slide plays through to
slide B. How do I set the features so automatic transition and On Click work
together?
