ADSL modem

I cannot shut my computer down after installing a SEGEM
FAST 800 USB ADSL MODEM,I can only do so by uninstalling
and unplugging the USB modem.could you please tell how
can I resolve the issue.

Does your ADSL modem have an ethernet port? Do you have a network adapter in
your computer? If you have both of these then you can just connect to the
modem via a ethernet cable.
