Adobe won't convert page size

I write my catalog in MS Word and then convert it to a pdf file with adobe.

The catalog is 6†X 10†, and in Word it shows as 6†X 10â€, but when I
convert it in adobe, despite the fact that I tell adobe distiller that it’s
to print a 6†X 10†page it ALWAYS converts the word 6†X 10†page to an
Adobe 8 ½ X 11 size page.

I’ve tried every possible way to get adobe to show the correct6†X 10†size
catalog.

I need all the help I can get, and truly do appreciate it.

Thanks for your reply:

I did post this question in the applicable Adobe newsgroup.

The answere by all who responded is that the problem is with word 2000; not
with the adobe distiller.

Well they would say that wouldn't they?

I don't have access to Word 2000 but I do have Word 2003 and Acrobat 8. If
you set the active printer driver as Adobe PDF and you set the page size in
the Change Conversion settings job option via the Acrobat add-in to Word as
6" x 10", the pages size in the resulting PDF is 6 x 10.

To get full compatibility you must use the add-in to create the PDF. Note
that Word will only do what the current printer driver will allow. Setting
the Adobe driver as the active driver will allow you to setup options that
the paper printer will not.
