Adobe PDF Toolbar

I am using Word 2002 on a Windows XP Professional operating system. Whenever I start up Word, there is a toolbar for PDFMaker 6.0. I don't mind this in itself, but it invariably appears on its own line, thus costing me a "row" of screen space. I have tried both moving this toolbar, and deleting it, but, unlike all the other toolbars, this change isn't "saved." The next time I start up Word, there it is again, on its own line. Is there anything to be done, short of "Customizing" the toolbar out of existence?

Thanks for your help.
