Pam,
I am having the same problem. Have you figured out a solution? I've posted
this question on Experts Exchange and also gotten no helpful advice.

No - I have not found the answer. I do not know if it is an Access 2002 issue
or an Adobe 7.0 issue.

You need to update acrobat:

I ran the Adobe update but when you click on the hyperlinks or even create
new one's with a .pdf file, the files will still not open.

If you update to the latest version of Adobe it will resolve the issue. I
had the same issue in excel as well.

Though the question is posted by the member in 2005, I too could not find a solution till now i..e similar problem lies with MS Access 2010. Reason for posting solution for the problem is that somebody in need may find it handy.

The solution lies in "while linking hyperlink please do not link directly the PDF file instead create a shortcut for that particular PDF file in the same folder and other folder and attach this shortcut to hyperlink which should solve the problem".
