Adobe 6.0 Acrobat Professional

I recently tried to upgrade my copy of Adobe Professional 6.0 to 6.1 on my
machine at home (Wiondows XP). During the install, it asked me to insert my
original disk, which I had left at work. Since these were not readily
accessible, I aborted the install by hitting cancel. Since that time, when I
try to boot up Acrobat, the computer freezes on the opening screen of Adobe,
and the CPU is occupied at 100% capacity while it is on. I uninstalled
Acrobat, and reinstalled the original disks, however, the exact same thing
happened. I uninstalled it again, and tried to simply install Acrobat Reader,
and it too freezes on the opening screen. I have seen no help on the Adobe
page or in their user groups. I would appreciate help on this very much.

This has happened to me as well

1. Uninstall Adobe.
2.Delete the Adobe Folder located in Program Files\Common Files
3. Delete the Temp files in Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Local
Settings\Temp
(you might have to select show hidden folders in the folder options located
in the Control Panel
3. Reinstall Adobe.

And here is the link from Adobe

Good Luck

Thank you very much. This worked, and in fact, I didn't have to reinstall
Adobe. I just cleared out the temp files completely, and now Adobe Reader
works well. I will try to reinstall professional tomorrow, when I have the
disks.
