ADO.net 2.0 and XML web service

What is the relationship between ADO.net 2.0 and XML web service? Does it
make sense to create a desktop application using ADO.net 2.0 and then enhance
it later with web interface using technology like xml web service?

Huh? An XML web services can use any version of ADO.NET (or any other data
access interface) to capture data. I would think about your design a lot
more and get more comfortable with why one would use or need a Web Service
before committing to it.
