ADMT Error message

Hi, I am rather new to the admt tool but have a need to migrate users from
one domain to another.
We have a forest with 5 domains. I am in the enterprise admins group and I
need to move users from the gunders domain to the newly created grs domains.
The gunders domain has a win2k server GC and the GRS domain has a win2k3
server.
When i run the tool from the GRS domain to the Gunders domain i am able to
move users, but when i try to run it using the gunders domain as the source
domain and the grs domain as the target i get the following error.

The target domain is not in native mode. (domain=grs.gbrx.com)

what does this mean? how can i fix this?
why does it move users from one domain to another but not the other way
around?

It simply means what is says... ;-)
W2K AD forests/domains have 2 modes: mixed and native
mixed = possible to have NT4 DCs & W2K DCs (DEFAULT!)
native = only W2K DCs (as it includes support for universal groups,
sidhistory etc.)
If a Forest has been updated with the w2k3 schema update and it
contains w2k3 DCs then from the w2k3 DC's perspective you will have
functional levels for the domain AND the forest
domain:
mixed = possible to have NT4 DCs & W2K/W2K3 DCs (DEFAULT!)
native = only W2K/W2K3 DCs (as it includes support for universal
groups, sidhistory etc.)
interim = only NT4/W2K3 DCs
2003 = only W2K3 DCs
Forest:
2000 = supports NT4/W2K/W2K3 DCs
2003 = only W2K3 DCs
If you want to you sidhistory when migrating users, the target domain
must be at least windows 2000 native mode/level. You can configure
that with Active Directory Domains and Trusts. Right click on the
domain and you'll see it
