Administrator is logged out immediately after login in Terminal Services

Dear Readers,

I'm having a problem. I normally use Remote Desktop Connection to
admin my Win2k3 server. But since a few days (without any major
changes on my server) everytime I try to login with my Administrator
account the system logs the administrator out immediately after the
login. I see the Loading User Settings message, the applying user
settings and right after that logging off and saving user settings. I
can login on the console itself. Does anyone know what the problem is
and how to fix it?

Many thanks for your help,
Rémy Samulski

Anything in the EventLog?

Just a wild guess: did you update the Nvidia driver on the server
lately? Immediate logoffs are a known problem with some Nvidia
drivers:
Nvidia drivers 56.72 or 56.64 both cause this problem.
Nvidia 2.20 WDMs works fine.
Driver version 53.04 found here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/pc_winxp-2k_53.04.html
works OK.
Disabling the 'helper' NVIDIA service makes it work again.

Just a wild guess: you are my life saver or my guardian angel?
Disabling the NVidia service worked! I shouldn't have installed the
NVidia display driver in the first place.

MANY MANY thanks,
