Administrator Account Not Accessible

when initially installing win xp pro, i used only the
administator account to configure my system. i added a
password and selected the 'make my files and folders
private' check box. subsequently i created other accounts
for my family and a general access personal account for
myself. i assigned the administrative priviledges to my
new personal account and restarted the system. when the
login screen reappeared the origninal administrator
account was no longer available. even worse, i can no
longer gain access to any of the files stored in 'my
documents' of that account. can i get back to the
original administator account and remove the check from
the 'make my files and folders private' box?

Hi

This one might help for the file access issue:

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308421

How to log on with the original Administrator user:

WinXP Pro:

Be sure all users are logged off, then press Ctrl+Alt+Del *twice*
at the Welcome screen.

WinXP Home:

Boot into Safe Mode.

In Safe Mode, if you get an empty Welcome page, press Ctrl+Alt+Del
*twice* to get the ordinary logon page and then fill in the user
name Administrator.
