I am getting a message on my computer whenever I try to
install software on my machine that says I can't do it
because I don't have administrator priviledges. How do I ad
these priviledges? Right now I can't add microsoft packages
on my computer and now I have the love virus.

Please help!!!

Hi Myron,

You must make sure that the account you are using is an administrator
account. Open the control panel and click on user accounts. If the words
"computer administrator" appear under you user name then you have
administrator priviledges. If not you must log on as account that does.

Try this:

NOTE: If you have Home Edition start you computer in the safe mode before
following the steps below.

1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete at the welcome screen

2. Type "Administrator" (without quotes) as the user name

3. Type the password for the Administrator account. (If you do not know the
password, then leave the password box empty)

4. Click OK

5. Open the User Accounts Control Panel

6. Click on your user name

7. Click change the account type

8. Choose Computer Administrator and click change account type

9. Restart the computer and log on using you username
