Admin problems

Hello everyone,

My problem is that I setup my security successfully and everything was fine
unit I tried to transfer my database from my laptop onto my desktop for
further development. Unfortunately changing the file path name obviously did
something to the security, i.e made it not work! And I basically I had no
access rights on the copy I transfered onto my desktop. So in an attempt to
fix this I proceeded to foolishly play around with security on my laptop and
managed to give my admin account no rights! At the moment I can log on fine
as the Admin but I can't modify anything nor can i give myself my rights! Any
help would be most apreciated.

Did you also transfer the workgroup file you used to secure the db on
the dekstop? YOu would need this file, and you would also need to
"join" this file, or better yet build a shortcut that points to your
workgroup file. To do this, add a desktop shortcut on your laptop and
set the Target as such:

"Full Path to MSAccess.exe" "Full Path to your database" /wrkgrp "Full
path to your workgroup file"

This will open your db with the workgroup file specified.

If you secured a database, then you will have to have the workgroup file you
used when you secured it. When you copy a secured database to a new
computer, you must also copy the workgroup file.

You will also want to build a shortcut to use that particular workgroup file
when you try to open your new copy of the database.
