Admin pak

I have recently added a windows 2003 domain controller to
my windows 2000 domain -- I used the adprep tools first
and all whent well. I am aware that their is non
compatability between the two versions of adminpak and the
windows 2003 will only adminster windows 2003 server etc
but it appears that the original admin paks for windows
2000 don't work properly even though it still administers
a windows 2k DC, some of the functionality works like
adding users etc but it will not allow myself to copy a
user to allow the automatic creation of user groups and
profile paths.
This used to work fine before, does anyone know how to
solve this problem: i cannot find a downloadable w2k
adminpak update anywhere on Microsofts website and the
windows 2003 version will not administer my servers when
they sit on a windows 2000 pro client, however the XP
clients work fine -- does this mean i have to upgrade all
my clients who need to use the adminpak to xp --- Could
this be intentional i wonder --- any views?

I ran into the same problem you encountered. I ended up
doing one of two things: 1. RDPing (Remote Desktop)into
W2K domain controllers and running the appropriate
utility. 2.Upgrading to WindowsXP. There really is no
other way I'm afraid.

Windows 2000 Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) should definitely
be able to administer W2K3 DCs. Can you please send a detailed description
of what functionality isn't working, including the steps you used and I will
see if we can get it fixed.
