Admin can't access connection properties

C

Carlyle Smith

While logged in as the Domain Administrator (Enterprise
Admin, etc.) on a server, I tried to access the
properties of my "Local Area Connection" but get the
following error:

"You do not have sufficient privileges for accessing
connection properties. Please contact your
administrator."

I get this error on my DC (Win2k) and every other Win2k
server in the domain except for my new Windows 2003
server. It was recently installed and promoted after
running domainprep.

Help!

Try checking if the following policy had been set:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Network and Dial up
connection
"Prohibit access to properties of a LAN connection"

Thanks! That was it. I didn't even know those policies
existed. I can see I have too many cooks in my kitchen!

Thanks again!
