Adjusting Volume with Fn + F3/F4

Hello,
I have a new Sony Vaio S150 and earlier I was able to manipulate the volume
using Fn + F3 (to decrease) and Fn + F4 (to increase). Now when I try this
it doesn't work. Does anyone know what I need to do to make this an option
again? It's much easier than right-clicking on the Volume icon which is why
I'm curious...
