Adjust the spacing between a list bullet or number and the text

Apologies for previous posting error. I am inserting a bullet list within a
table cell, and that is where the tab to centre cannot be adjusted. The
corrected query is below:

When inserting a bullat list within a table cell, the default bullet list
inserts a tab which aligns the first line text to centre. The Word help says
right click and an option will allow you to adjust the position of the text,
but this does not work. Right click does not give an item "Adjust List
Indents" in this case. Is there a work around to this restriction?

Click the Office button, and then click Word Options. In the Advanced
category, click the Customize button. In the Customize Keyboard dialog box,
locate the AdjustListIndents command (you'll find it in the All Commands
category) and assign a keyboard shortcut to it. Use the shortcut to access
the Adjust List Indents dialog box.
