Addressing Envelopes

When I have a letter open and I click the envelope icon or go to Tools,
Letters and Mailings, Envelopes and Labels, I only get the Envelope Options
window, not the envelope/label window where I can type in an address to print
on the envelope. I have Word 2003 and am using XP. Has anyone else had this
issue? I reloaded Word but it's still happening.

This happened to me when I had selected Envelopes as the merge type for the
current document. I had to set it back to "Normal Word document" to get the
usual dialog back.

Where did you set it to Normal Word Document? Also, this wasn't a merged
letter or merge file in any way. Don't know if that makes any difference or
not.

I used the Main Document Setup button on the Mail Merge toolbar. But the
reason my document was a mail merge document (briefly) was that I was
researching the answer to a question on how to set up an envelope merge. I
have no explanation for why it's happening in your case unless the menu item
has become damaged.
