address bar problem

One of my users, running Windows 2000, is unable to type locations into his
IE6 address bar unless he puts the full url, including http:// in front of
every address.

The default IE6 behavior is to simply add http:// in front of any location
typed into the address bar. (Thus, if I type "peyser.com" into the address
bar on my IE6 browser, it quickly alters it to read http://peyser.com/). The
user doesn't wish to have to add the additional text in front of each
address, and since no one else here has to, has a point.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Go to "tools" and "internet options" in your IE browser
window. Pick on the advanced tab. Make sure the "Just go
the the most likely site" is picked under the "Search
from the Address bar" listing.

Nice. Thanks!

It worked perfectly...switching it from "just go" to another option and then
back again did the trick.
