Address bar losing previous searches

Hi,
Assuming Windows XP...
Are you clearing out recent documents from... Right-click the taskbar>
Properties> Start Menu> Customize> Clear (recently accessed documents, etc?)
Is a security/privacy program such as CCleaner doing this? This can also
clear TypedURLs from the Address Bar.

Is another program clearing History, TypedURLs, recent docs, etc
automatically- possibly at each startup?

Hope this helps,

I had the same question. I m running IE6 with CA (Computer Associates)
Security suite and after looking at Dons reply, I dug into the CA firewall
and found a page called 'Cache cleaner' and a box was checked that said
"Delete Typed URL/address bar" or similar. I d been having a problem with a
few things and did a SYSRESTORE last week. That made my CA FW/AV mess up
so I did a uninstall/reinstall last nite. During that install , The FW
program decided to go with its default 'Delete......" and away went my drop
down addressbar History. I just 'unchecked' that box so that should do the
trick I hope..Thanks Don

Rudy,
I am having the same problem as you. It started after I installed CA
Internet Security Suite. In addition to having "add ons" being added to my
home page address on my address bar, it is also erasing my previous
searches.
Since I am new at this, please give me a step by step instructions on how
you "Dug into the CA Firewall and found a page called "Cache Cleaner? I'd
like to see if the box on mine is checked "Delete". TIA RW
