Adding users to an Enterprise

G

Guest

I have two domains, D01 & D02. I would like to add a single user
account to both domains. The problem I run in to when
trying to create the account in the second domain i

"The user login name you have chosen is already in use in this
enterprise..."

I would like to use the same user id (user01) in both domains.
How do I make this possible?
This is under a Windows 2000 & 2003 environment

Clarify your POST, is "DC01" a domain controller or a domain? If DC01 is
really a domain, is DC02 a child domain? Is there a trust relationship
between domains?

Sounds like you've got a single domain with 2 domain controllers (DC01 and
DC02). In which case a user account created on DC01 gets replicated to DC02
which explains the error you have recieved.

Lets suppose that you have a domain with 100 domain controllers. If you
create a single user on any DC, that user is automatically replicated
throughout the other 99 DCs. Wellcome to the world of client/server domain
architectures.
