Adding time in excel

J

Juan

I'm training for triathlon and I am building my workout time sheet to
show time dedicated on each sport. I cannot find a way to show total
time dedicated to a given exercise in TOTAL HOURS. The problem is that
add the times but if these add up to more than 24 hours per month the
cell will show the residual value in excess of 24 hours, for example:

I use the formula TIME(hour, minute, second) to add all times dedicated
to a given sport BUT let's say I spent 26 hours and 17 minutes and 15
seconds (26:17:15) on running on a given month, the cell will show
2:17:15 instead of 26:17:15.

Any advise will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Juan

Hi Juan!

All you have to do is enter your times such as:
h:m:s - 0:22:10
2:10:00

Then use the SUM funtion to total them up. To keep the
hours from rolling over past 24 hrs, format the cell as
[hh]:mm:ss
