adding/ removing multiple tags

Is there a way to tag multiple files at once? For example, can I tag a group
of files with something, and later remove that tag from those files?

Yes. You can do this in Windows Explorer, or in Windows Photo Gallery.
Select the photos by using the Ctrl key and clicking.
Then add the tag.

In Windows Live Photo Gallery, I select and drag photos to the Descriptive
tags (on the right).
