Put an SSD 60GB in to my 5yr old laptop?
Already got max amount of RAM so thought an SSD would speed things up etc?
Or would it not be worth doing so?

Laptop may be old but it does the job i use it for very well indeed.
Any thoughts??

Possibly! Do you have the model number of the laptop, as that should mention what sort of hard drive it accepts :).

I've recently added an 80GB SSD to my laptop, as it was really sluggish - it's now MUCH faster. Well worth the £75 it cost.

5 years old will mean its Vista?

Only issue i can think of would be that Vista doesn't support TRIM.

4GB RAM & 60GB HDD.

It's 5 years old & model had been out about 9months when i bought it!

Yeah, I'm with V_R - with that spec machine it wouldn't really be worth it. May as well keep the change and stick it toward another :).

Did think i was pushing the limits a bit on it.
But with the RAM upped & the wireless connection sorted out it does the job.
V_R & Ian thanks for your input on this.:thumb:
