Added Text from ? not wanted

I am working on a problem my sister has with Word 2000 running on Win 98SE. She inputs text into he
document and then when she saves the document it has added text at the end of it and she does not kno
where it is coming from. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The following is the text that she gets

Sounds like the drop-down menu in the File | Open dialog is set to "Recover
Text from Any File," should be set to the word documents option.

When the Open dialog box appears change the "Files of type" to something
other than "Recover Text From Any FiIe"

In the File > Open dialog, change the Files of Type box from "Recover
text from any file" to "Word documents" or "All files".
