Add/Remove Windows Components problem

I wanted to add the Faxing component. I went to Add/Remove Programs, then
Add/Remove Windows Components. When it brought up the list of components,
there were several already checked, including Accessories, Media Player,
Internet Explorer and others. I was assuming that if you checked something on
the list, it meant you wanted to add it, so I removed the checkmarks that
were there and then only checked the faxing component. Once the process
started, it came up with a mesasge saying it was deleting files or something
to that effect. This seemed to be taking a while, so I cancelled, thinking
that maybe it was removing the things I had un-checked. The cancel seemed to
work, most things seem to still be there, but my Games are gone. So when I
want to add a component that isn't already there, do I leave all the boxes
checked that are already checked, and also check the one I want to add? If I
do this, will it know enough to re-add the Games?

Just knowing you *found* the answer really doesn't help me!

It would be helpful if you could post the outcome of this problem, cuz you
see, I'm having a similar problem.
