The appearance of an icon doesn't alter the function of the program or
process you want to use. But icon images can get corrupted and may cause
confusion. Hunt down "TweakUI" and install it. It's a freebie and a very
handy tool. After you've installed it then go to the "Repair" tab and
select "Repair Icons". This will fix things. Some icons won't reappear
properly until you do a reboot.
