Add/Remove pgms not listing all installedm programs

When I go to "Add/Remove Programs" in the control panel,
only a small list of programs is shown, starting at "A"
and listing partially thru about "Am".

No other programs appear in the list, so I cannot
add/remove them from inside this tool.

How do I get the list back?

Hi Rob,

I'm not one of the experts but if no one else replies: What I do know is
XP's add/remove might not show everything anyway, and it might show some
programs as still there even after they've been romoved. There's a free
utility you can get off the internet called TweakAll 3, it runs ok under XP
and is similar ot TweakUI, but in it's add/remove capability it shows both
the visible and the invisible programs, so it might be worth seeing what that
says you've got. And there's also a free program called EasyClean which is
pretty safe to use and that includes an add/remove program list capability as
well.

Before using them to add/remove anything, Easycleaner has a registery
cleaner that seems safe, so perhaps give that a run first to see what it
says, it gives a list of what it finds and lets you choose whether or not to
let it "fix" the registry, so its not like it dives in and does stuff without
you having the option to stop it.

There's also a goody site called pitstop that lets you get a free pc check
over the internet.

And maybe, if you haven't tried it, number one might be to run an antivirus
checker like Norton just in case somethings got into your machine that needs
to be sorted out first. I've never had one do it but I gather that a lot of
attacks try to mess up the registry and I assume it holds the list add/remove
uses for showing what programs are in the machine.

As I said , I'm no expert but hope it helps.
