I miss this feature in the new version. Not all of us do mass mailings.

The reason is was eliminated was that the bar codes produced by Word were
not compliant with USPS regulations. They are not required except on bulk
mail, anyway.

However if you insist the barcode field is still available, it is simply not
available as a check box on the envelope dialog. You can always add the
field to your envelope. You can even download an envelope template with bar
code included from my web site.

It may not be required, but all mail mail comes with one added to the bottom
of the envelope. Mail gets delivered faster with it. I never had a problem
with it when I would provide self addressed envelopes. They never came with
the post office added bar code that I get on non bar coded envelopes.

I suspect adding the Postnet barcode in Word wouldn't enable faster
processing since it no longer qualified for a discount due to a change in
how the code is generated.

"The POSTNET bar code that Word generates no longer qualifies for USPS bulk
mailing discounts"

All mail comes with the POSTNET bar code because the USPS prints it on the
mail you receive.
