Add Hardware Wizard Problem

I am receiving the following message when trying to open
the Add Hardware Wizard:"Cannot Run Two Device
Installations.",followed by; "You can install only one
device at a time.Another installation is underway,when it
is finished you can try this wizard again."
To my knowledge,there is no installation currently
under way.How can I check on this,and how do I get the
wizard to function properly? Any help greatly
appreciated.

Hey Chris,

A simple reboot may clear it.
Add hardware may have run automatically because it detected what it thought
was a new device, and got stuck in the background.

If it ahappens again go into device manager, do any devices have a yellow
exclamation mark or a question mark, or a redcross next to them?

control panel/system/hardware/device manager
