Add dropdown list to Outlook from data in SQL DB.

Hi,

Can someone guide me to reference to add a dropdown list to a outlook toolbar.
The data is to come from a SQL db.

I want to run some code also after selection on a button click
that creates a record in a table that links the current email
to the selection in the dropdown.

I am looking for example code or similar
