Add custom bullet to standard "bullets and numbering" menu box

How do I customize the bullet options in the "bullets and numbering" menu box
so that the one I add right now also shows up the next time I go into that
box? Ie: I like to use a dash as a bullet, but my options consistently
include a circle, a diamond, a box, etc... I'd like a dash to be part of my
repoitoire.

As far as I know this is not possible.
