AD Installation Failure - UPDATE!!

D

Don Larry

Greetings,

AD installation is failing. Here's what I do:

I have a win 2000 server. I have configured my TCP/IP
setting, and my DNS settings using Microsoft tutorial.
This is a stand alone server, it's currently on a
workgroup. No domain in place yet.

1- I run dcpromo, and go through the wizard selecting all
defaults for a new domain controller (new tree, forest
etc...).

2- I enter the correct domain and BIOS. I go through the
windows that prompt for AD storage (C:\WINNT\NTDS...)

3- I select "Permissions compatible with pre-Windows 2000
servers".

4- I finish wizard using all defaults, and assign a
password

Configuration for AD starts, i get this error:
"The operation failed with the following error:
"The system cannot find the path specified."

Any idea why? HELP!

Thanks in Advance,
Don

Don,

Was your 'C' drive formatted using NTFS or FAT?
