How did you download, via Ad-aware or manually?
How-to: manually update Ad-aware;

Use these defs;

Using manual d/load from lavasoft site tried multiple times same result 20.1
file rather than 24.1 file
Could be a proxy issue but I've been using this method for some time with no
problems

downloading defs file from lavasoft direct, having done so for some time
with no probs, could possible be a caching issue on the servers???

You are correct, the manual download does not yield the current defs, odd...
I doubt if it's a proxy issue though you do not state what sort of proxy you run.
Keep on trying the update engine via Ad-aware.

Best I can help you with for now.

Caching on the Lavasoft servers "could" be an issue, though I successfully updated
three machines today without any problems.
Keep trying, good luck!
