ActiveX

Scott

I have currently disabled ActiveX for I.E. 6.0 because I
can't stand all the advertisements that load with the
Macromedia Flash player. Anyway, everytime I go to a
webpage that tries to download Flash I get the following
message:

"Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX
controls on this page. As a result, the page may not
display correctly."

This message pops up every time I go to a webpage that
uses Flash (e.g. Yahoo) - and I know that webpages won't
display correctly (I don't care - again I'm soooo sick of
advertisements).

My question is: is there a way to turn off that warning
so it does not pop up every time I go to a new webpage?

Thanks

Your this trick. You will then be able to control if you want Flash on or
off.
Reactivate the ActiveX disabling will always give you the message.

Create shortcuts in your Links folder, under Internet Explorer, which will
run a command:

Flash On:

"C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\regsvr32.exe"
"C:\WinNT\System32\Macromed\Flash\swflash.ocx"

Flash Off:

"C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\regsvr32.exe"
"C:\WinNT\System32\Macromed\Flash\swflash.ocx" /u

(these are word wrapped for usenet, you must combine the two lines
back together, separated by a space)

Of course, if you're not running an NT-kernel OS, or if you installed
flash in a different directory you'll have to adjust the paths to
regsvr32.exe and swflash.ocx
