ActiveX running after latest patch

Does anyone know or can tell me how to find what activeX component is being
asked to run in IE6?. Here'e what happens: When right clicking on a jpeg or
jpg on any website and selecting properties, the activeX dialog box comes
up asking to run. I have the settings set up to ask for permission, but my
question is what activex component is running and why. This only shows up
after installing the latest patch, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer
(828750).

Thanks if you can help.

Yes, I had this exact same problem. Only way I could solve it was to
uninstall the patch. Things instantly started working perfectly after
the uninstall so I am now surfing without the patch. :( Good luck.

I know what this is. Apparently, something with 828750 was not coded
quite right - the 'ActiveX' control that you're being prompted for is
actually just the IE text filters such as glow, shadow, flip
horizontal, etc. I found this out because I usually surf on high
security, and a site I frequent that utilizes the glow filter
extensively suddenly had all the glow missing after applying the
patch. Re-enabling the 'run activex controls and plugins' checkbox
(nothing else, it's still set on high security otherwise) brought all
the glow back. Go figure. :p I've already posted about this on
microsoft.public.windowsupdate and an MVP replied, so MS is (or should
be) aware of it.

Excellent!, thanks very much for the information. Hopefully it will get
fixed and I'll check the the update group as well for anything more.
