ActiveX in Word "Current Date" saves/opens OK, but prints TODAY:(

The ActiveX Forms control "Current Date" saves and opens the file showing the
date when the document was created, but when text is sent to the printer on a
subsequent day, it PRINTS the current date, rather than the original save
date, which still is shown on the document. This is more of an ActiveX
Out-of-Control, I think

For my own purposes (this is on an invoice), I prefer to have a function
which brings up today's date but saves it as a static, stable number.

PS this is in Word 2003 on an XP Pro office network.
