activex controls

Billy Thomas

I have a notebook pc with windows xp. I am unable to view
webpages when activex controls are used. I get a message
that my controls are disabled, but when I change the
settings it does no good.
I am caught in a catch-22 situation. I bought antivirus
software, but it required the system to be scanned 1st,
which required my going to a page on thier website, which
required activex controls, so I could not use the
software because...i could not load the page...got the
activex controls error message.i recently moved and cant
find my xp/recovery disks. I have Win 98, but xp wont let
me reformat the hard drive my hard drive to load this.
Also, I get booted offline frequently for no apparent
reason. I have a phone modem, and just got cable modem,
but cant use it because when I go to the site [adelphia]
to configure and activate it........I cant see the pages
because....it requires activex. HELP!!
