ActiveX and Secure Site Problems

B

Brian

This problem started when trying to access secure
websites. I get the standard "the page cannot be
displayed". The security settings (SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS
1.0)in internet options were all marked with no results.
I turned zone alarm off and turned down the security
settings....nothing. I have also uninstalled and reloaded
IE6sp1 and even reset the internet options in the registry
with no results. So I gave up and loaded Mozilla and have
had no problems (with secure sites or ActiveX).

Now I am trying to download a program from a website that
does not support Mozilla (mypublisher.com)and am forced to
use Explorer. I have run into another nagging issue that
wasn't critical until now. Although I have enabled all
the ActiveX controls, I still get the "your current
security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on
this page. As a result, the page may not display
correctly" . Again, ZoneAlarm is off.

I'm thinking these two problems are related, but don't
have a clue what to do next. I would greatly appreciate
any assistance.
