Active X Toolbar...Where did it go??

And how do I get it back? Ya know, the yellow informational bar that's
supposed to appear so I can click on it to accept the Active X controls? It's
not there and I can't find it and as a result my Mcafee Virus scan won't work
etc.
Is there a way to just reinstall IE 6??
Why doesn't that yellow bar appear??
I've followed the instructions for going into the Tool menu and doing all of
that but it won't work no mater what I do. HEEEEELP!! Because if I don't get
this fixed and soon, I'll migrate alright....right to another browser.
Between the nonworking browser and this SLOW means of getting help is beyong
FRUSTRATING. By the way, I've been into computers for over 10 years and I've
only had to contact MS 1 time on a similar matter. So I'm not some
unexperienced new computer user. But to say I'm frustrated over this browser
problem would be putting it mildly....
Hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction....
Thanks in advance!! Chuck

I found that the missing information bar was an issue with McAfee - not
Internet Explorer.

It always appeared whenever I tried to download anything EXCEPT for when
McAfee tried to update itself and download its required ActiveX control. I
tried all the fixes and suggestions posted at the McAfee web site but they
didn't work. So I totally removed McAfee VirusScan 10 and switched to
something else.
